New Camry Hybrid Offers Class-Leading Fuel Economy, Advanced Safety Features, Entune™ Multimedia System

  Now on sale at Toyota of Winter Haven, the all-new 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid achieves an EPA-estimated 43 mpg city/39 mpg highway/41 mpg combined. With a 7.6-second zero-to-60 mph acceleration time, the new Camry Hybrid also meets AT-PZEV (Advanced Technology Partial-credit Zero Emissions Vehicle) standards.

"The highly anticipated arrival of the 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid at Toyota of Winter Haven follows on the successful introduction of the gasoline engine model and gives our customers greater choice in finding the vehicle that's right for them," said Matt Daly, Internet Manager of Toyota of Winter Haven. "The new Camry Hybrid delivers advanced technology, sophisticated styling and an engaging driving experience."

The all-new Camry Hybrid debuts a highly revised version of Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Drive powertrain, including a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The system produces a combined 200 horsepower and varies power between the gas engine and electric motor, or combines both, as needed. An EV Drive mode allows the driver to operate the car on the electric motor alone for up to 1.6 miles at lower speeds (below approximately 25 mph).

Air conditioning and power steering systems are driven electrically. A more compact battery and relocation of the DC/DC converter yields an additional 2.1 cubic feet in the luggage compartment compared to the previous-generation Camry Hybrid.

America's best-selling car for nine years running and 13 of the past 14 years, the 2012 Camry is one of the first Toyota vehicles to offer the new Entune multimedia system, which leverages the user's smartphone to provide access to navigation, entertainment and information services. Toyota Entune also brings the largest selection of music options available to the vehicle, including iHeartRadio and Pandora. Available HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio™ add to the music choices, while a USB port, iPod connectivity and Bluetooth® wireless connection are standard on all new Camry models.

The new Camry provides exceptional handling and ride quality due to a more rigid body structure, revised front suspension, redesigned rear suspension and aerodynamics. Inside, engineers reduced wind and road noise, and focused on suppressing noises near the frequencies of human speech to create an environment that is more comfortable for conversation.

Small touches help to increase the feeling of spaciousness inside the new Camry's passenger cabin, while improving forward sightlines. All 2012 Camry models are equipped with 10 standard airbags.

A new, available Blind Spot Monitor detects a vehicle in the adjacent lane when the turn signal is on, signaling the driver using indicators in the side mirrors. The new Camry, like all Toyota models, features Toyota's Star Safety System™, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. It also features the Smart Stop Technology brake-override system.

Even with new features and refinement, better mileage and a bigger trunk in the 2012 Camry Hybrid, prices are lower than 2011 models.

Toyota's 36-month/36,000 mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and against corrosion with no mileage limitation. The hybrid-related components, including the HV battery, battery control module, hybrid control module and inverter with converter, are covered for eight years/100,000 miles.

The Camry Hybrid will also come standard with Toyota Care, a complimentary plan covering normal factory-scheduled maintenance and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Just over two weeks ago, Japan was struck by one of the most devastating natural disasters in its history.  Although relief efforts are underway, it will take considerable time for the people of Japan to recover.  Because of supporters like you, international organizations including the American Red Cross are able to provide shelter, emergency services and humanitarian aid to the victims of this tragedy. 

Since we announced our campaign, associates donated $115,234 to the Red Cross.  Our SET dealers also stepped up and gave $237,800.  In addition to matching associates' giving, JM Family had originally planned to donate $250,000.  In total, that would represent $718,268 toward the earthquake and tsunami relief efforts.  However, we have decided to increase JM Family's corporate gift and will make a collective donation of $750,000 to help provide the resources that are so desperately needed.
